After the Rain
Well, it had to happen sooner or later. The Nokia 5610 XpressMusic is being shipped back to WOM World. (Many thanks to them for the trial use of the 5610.) Thankfully, I still have some photos left to post from the 5610, which gives me ample time to beg for another trial phone. I’ve been spoiled with the 3.2 mega-pixels. Nokia 5800 anyone?
Tropical Storm Fay at Paynes Prairie
On my way into work this morning, I took a brief side trip to the prairie overlook to see how things were going. The storm called Fay is not really doing much in the way of damage, but it is dumping a lot of rain on us. I’m definitely not complaining, since previous years have been too dry and fire prone. This year is different.
I’d have gotten out of the car, but it was raining and I didn’t want to melt. You’ve seen this picture before, but in much drier conditions. I’ll get some more photos of Fay soon, since it’s on the way out and much safer to venture in the yard.
Thunderhead Looming Overhead
Did you ever see one of those moments where the sun is out but a huge dark cloud is rolling in? In Florida, this happens a lot.
Capturing these almost-black clouds in a photo is a little more difficult though, because we don’t normally get those really dark clouds like you see in the plains states. Ours are generally gray and poofy, with a poorly defined edge, but still loaded with rain.
This one came in and brought a strong wind with it, followed by a deluge, which was good because we had way too much pollen in the air. And pollen is no fun. Unless you’re a bee.
