Being tagged for a meme is one thing. Having the chance to modify it to my desire is quite another.

Dan hit me with the “Seven Things You Don’t Know But I Do” meme because he wanted to see it done with photo representation. Given that I’m short on time and already have three memes in the queue, I thought I’d tackle this one first. It seemed pretty easy, but I had to remove the “about me” part (mostly) to accomplish it with photos. On to the list!

You don’t know:

what kind of tea I’m brewing in this picture. I drink coffee in the morning (2 cups) and tea during the day while at work. why there is a fishing reel on my desk.

Second, I want to say that if I owe you a meme, it is coming. Promise.

Third, I am stoked to be a member of the sooper-seekrit, members only Cliq group called Network of Blogs that Don’t Suck. Cliq is a new service that is going to beat the hell out of BlogRush, that is, if they have planned for mass casualties, unlike the people at BlogRush. (Seriously, what were they thinking?)

Cliq has taken the RSS feed to a whole new level. You join a cliq, apply the widget to your blog and then post stories as usual. The feed goes to Cliq and then displays your content on your cliq’s widget, which should be on your cliq’s blogs. Their visitors click on your cliq’s widget which gets you rated higher in your cliq. By the way, cliq is actually spelled clique, so don’t get confused when I say something like, “Join my cliq simply by clicking on my cliq’s Cliq widget.” (That q is starting to look like a g.)

D. I just want to say thanks to everyone, especially my wife, my muse, my set-me-straight counselor, Nancy. (She will be today’s Wordless Wednesday photographer – look out for it soon!) I’ve been busy, but I will eventually reply to your comments. I’ve taken a page from the books of Rolando, Jon, Opal and Joanne regarding life priorities, so I’m not on this site 4-8 hours a day anymore. The oaks must have been gettin’ busy over the spring/summer, because there are a billion acorns this year. The concrete slab in front of my shed has so many covering it, that it’s like walking on ball bearings. Here’s a collection of acorns in a tree shot by Nancy. She appreciates the kind compliments for her previous contributions, so keep ‘em coming – a happy wife is a happy husband.

Finally, I would like to say that I must hang out with some visually inept people, because nobody could figure out what the shadow picture was. So mega-props go to all who participated in my contest (which was appropriate for pre-schoolers):

I shot this on Sunday afternoon at the park. This was captured on the second try, luckily, because my daughter was reluctant to keep jumping just so I could get a picture. My kids think I’m weird, but in a good way.

I have so many of these freaky water glass photos, that I have to share, but this is the last one, promise. Yeah, that’s me in the center. Got lucky on the first try.

I’ve been seeing this screenshot-of-your-desktop meme floating around and thought I’d put a spin on it. Here’s a shot of my real desk at work. This is on a good day. Normally, you can’t see the desk, just piles of stuff. Don’t worry, I’m not going to tag anyone, I figured instead that a little self-deprecation is in order.

If anyone can tell me what magazine that is in the bottom right corner, just above my lunch container, I’ll autograph the cover, scan it and send the picture to you (hey, it’s cheaper than the mail). I know, what an incredible prize!
