jacket-dog.jpgYour GPS Camera Phone: guest post by Melinda at Funny Dog Picture.

I was at work a couple months ago and I saw an employee of mine at work on his day off walking out of the store with a large bulge in the front of his zip-up hoodie. It was apparent that there was something in his jacket and thinking that the only reason to do that is to steal, I went after him. Turns out he came in to try to get someone to switch shifts with him and did not want to leave his new puppy at home! When he pulled down the zipper and showed my the dog I had to pull out my cell phone and take a picture!

Taken with a Nokia 6133.

This has nothing to do with the topic of this site. However, due to the extreme strangeness, I have to share it.

Long story short: We have two female dogs and one male bunny. The bunny has a crush on the bigger female dog. Weirdness is the result. Welcome to the Dog and Bunny Show, Episode 1.

Happy Mother’s Day!

What a week it has been.

My kids’ annual drama production is finally over, but it’s always a fun event. I volunteer my video editing skills and master a DVD for them every year, which gives the parents a chance to have a copy of the play while contributing to the school’s funds. I shot in 16:9 this year, so I was able to do more zoom and pan stuff without losing anyone in the frame. Hopefully, that will be done this month.

I’ve been getting mega link love from Dan, which makes me wonder if he’s going to quit blogging soon. It’s not just me, but everyone is getting the hook up. So many others have hung it up indefinitely that I’m wondering if he’s next. I hope not. Dan, don’t leave us!

Nancy is in the waning days of her second-to-last semester in college and it is crunch time around my house. Papers due, tests coming up…enough to make anyone crazy. Throw in a few kids, just to keep you on your toes and you’ve got a recipe for insanity. One more semester and we’ll be a dual degree family! I can’t wait for the student loan payments to begin!

A pleasant sursrise hit me yesterday when I checked my stats – I had a huge traffic spike on Thursday, courtesy the StumbleUpon fairy. Thanks to all you stumblers who came across my site. To the Google visitor who searched for “how to get striked down with lightning,” you should probably seek help of some kind. Really.

Finally, the photo above is Thor, the old man and alpha male of the house. He’s an awesome dog who likes to bark. A lot. Really loudly. I’m convinced that he’s a human stuck inside a dog’s body because he has a repertoire of barks and growls far exceeding that of any other dog I’ve met. It sounds like he’s trying to form words, but they just don’t come out right. Either way, I’m wishing I could be him today, laying outside in the grass (er, weeds) while Nancy plows through a Russian Literature paper on the trusty Powerbook.

Though Thor doesn’t fit the rigorous standards of an AKC showdog, he is pure-bred and would rather hang out than travel around showing off his poofy self. More info on the American Eskimo dogs

Edited in Photoshop CS – clipped Thor out as a new layer and applied Gaussian blur to the background. Minor level adjustments.
