Grayscale Week, Day 4: Self-Portrait
Ever get stuck in a rut, taking photos of the same old stuff? I feel that way now, so I’ve been trying to think differently about photo subjects.
Right before I walked in the door to work this morning, it hit me to do a self-portrait. However, I didn’t want it to look plain with a cluttered background. Taking a cue from Chica, I held the camera at waist-level and shot upwards. Without even looking at it, I saved the image and walked into the building.
It turned out much better than I expected. The cloudless sky definitely makes this photo, in my opinion. I’m going to be doing more of this in the future, for sure. Maybe a self-portrait week? We’ll see.

I did the same thing once, with my camera phone. It turned out really neat because there was a church steeple and clouds in the background.

You’re turning into a shapeshifter like Joanne. In every picture, you look almost like a different person. There’s the Bob Saget image you had for a long time, then DJ Jazzy Pete, and now, well, I’m going to call this one Hitman Pete since it looks like you’re dressed up in black and ready to take someone out. Or is this your Clark Kent look, ready to tear off the suit and fly into the sky?

I can see up your nose!
It does look good, the light with the slight right vignette really adds to it.
not only the cloudless sky made this one amazing… but I think it’s also because of your dark-colored shirt.

One shot, without looking and you produce that?
