It’s obvious that you can’t get too close with a camera phone. I can get about 10″ away before the picture begins to blur. To overcome that in this instance, I got really close. Like waaaay close.

Chica’s latest photo project is to photograph a marble. I may be bending the rules a bit, but what you see is a marble, except that it’s sitting on the camera lens. No photo touch up, no filters, no nothing (except for levels). Just a semi-transparent, oval-shaped marble causing some wicked light refraction.

Nancy and I shot about a dozen of these, so you may see more of these in the future. The first three are mine and the next three are Nancy’s. I’d normally post one photo, but these are so cool that I’m posting six. Enjoy!

Side note: I asked my youngest for a few marbles and she said, “Why? Are you going to take pictures of them?” I’m getting a reputation for photographing stuff, I guess.
