Barking Ferns

In spite of it being February, you would think Spring is here. I don’t think anybody told the plants what month it was, but then again, what do we know. This fern - and anything around it that blooms - say otherwise.
On a side note, Diane at Much of a Muchness celebrated her first year of blogging. Go by and congratulate her on a job well done. It’s totally worth the visit because you can hear what an accent from Dorset sounds like. She left a voice post using Utterz. Congrats, Diane!

Woof!
Well, if you check out my latest photo, you’ll see my bushes getting a rude notification that winter is still here!

Hey that’s a good observation because all the Citrus trees are also in Bloom.
Our are in bloom as well. The grapefruit isn’t actually blooming, but the buds are there. I give it another week or two.

Spring has definitely sprung here in Dorset!
That image is great - the bark looks monochrome against the colour of the fern - lovely
Diane’s last blog post..A very sociable weekend
I did the monochrome effect using Picasa’s filtered black and white tool, which just so happens to be the subject of the next tutorial. Unfortunately, my Camtasia installation has failed me and I can’t get it to work. I think its the video software I installed from the local library that’s mucking things up. Hopefully, I’ll have it posted soon.

Ah, the wonders of nature. I hope the other flora follow suit soon! Can’t wait for our willow to catch up…

We went back to the same place a few days ago and nothing had changed much. However, the wildflowers in my yard are getting ready to pop, so expect some pics soon.
