Picasa rings a bell. I do use Photoshop but I think other applications can be useful at time too. I used to create a lot of digital art (you can see them here: http://www.affordable-art.co.nz/category.pasp?categoryid=86) and I used a raft of applications to accomplish the final image. So thanks for introducing a new programme to many of us - worth a look it seems.

That's pretty cool, I've never worked with Picasa before, I have all that I need, even though it takes forever sometimes. :)

Pete, could the problems with the Revver video be with the way you are embedding it? I haven't had a problem with this video since the first day I mentioned it. I do notice that it begins playing once I open this page, rather than needing to click "Play" first. I wonder if the autoplay may be causing problems somehow?

In Photoshop, layers, feathering and gaussian blur would be the easiest, I think. You could use the lens blur too, instead of the gaussian.

If you search on Google, you'll see a number of ways people do it. Some of them make it more complicated than it needs to be, I think.

A friend just pointed me here- love the concept. I have a great Nikon film camera and a crappy 3.2 meg digi and a 1.3 meg cell camera. I recently did a test to see which crappy digi cameras took the best shot...it was a toss up really. But I have done some pretty cool things with my camera phone pictures in Paintshop Pro X2. I know not as cool as photos shop but its getting there :)

Love the blog, I'll be visitng more :)

Revver doesn't like one of us today, because I just get spinning wheels, a black screen and then it asks me if I want to play the video again.

Oops, nevermind. Played on the third attempt...

Nice use of the soft focus tool. Photoshop doesn't have that, but there are a myriad of ways to accomplish it.
