Mushrooms in the Nude!

Since Dan has been on a keyword loading binge these days, I thought I’d give it a try. Hence, nude mushrooms. At least I didn’t say Britney Spears. Or naked celebrities. Or Angelina Jolie. No, I would never say anything like that in a lame attempt to drive traffic to my site. Though I have been wondering how the lives of Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and Mary-Kate and Ashley have been going. Oh, and that Jamie Lynne Spears girl, too - you know Britney’s sister. I mean, really, I’m no Dr. Phil or Oprah, but can’t a guy be concerned about the mental health of super-models and movie stars?
But I digress.
Waaaay back in 2007, I posted a photo of some mushrooms that could make your days somewhat unpleasant if you consumed them. Here’s another photo from that group.
When these mushrooms grow, they tend to form what are called fairy rings. This is a ring in-the-making, though it never did fully develop. Regardless, it’s still an interesting find.
Speaking of fairies, when are you going to finish that story, Dan?

I’m surprised that you didn’t not talk about some famous guys too. George Clooney or Brad Pitt for instance. After all they are quite sexy guys and I’m sure you wouldn’t want to not talk about gorgeous male celebrities as it would look like you were not trying to attract female readers with the promise of naked pictures of Daniel Craig.
Good to know you are better than that.
PS I got in a complete muddle with all those double negatives so am not quite sure what I ended up saying. Apologies…..

Very clever, Pete. Let us know how much traffic your, um, nude mushroom post gets.
But don’t you think you should have mentioned something about these mushrooms to Obama, Hillary, McCain, etc., too? We wouldn’t want our presidential candidates to get caught eating these mushrooms. That would be a political scandal. (hint, hint)

I live in New York State and have been collecting mushrooms for years - edible and otherwise. I already own just about every other field guide to identifying mushrooms and other fungi, so when I saw your post it just remembered be this things.
