What happens when you take a photo of the screen of your digital camera? This.

While at the park on Sunday, I was armed with both the Sony Cybershot and the camera phone. I had nothing to show for the time we were there and that was about two hours. As I was fiddling with the Sony, I got a phone call. After hanging up, it just sort of happened and I’d have to say the results are interesting. Sure, you could probably do this in Photoshop, but I liken this to analog. It’s more authentic and there’s less processing involved. If you look closely, you can see the centering marks on the Sony display.

Crop and levels adjusted in Photoshop CS.

  1. I like this effect and yes I see the centering. Blurred pictures fascinate me. I posted one last week I believe. :-) You have really put your camera phone to good use. I rarely use mine. I did use it this past weekend and I thought about your website.

  2. On goes the quest for the most unique photo from your camera phone. I was disappointed that no one else takes time to rate your posts. I found this photo like looking at a Ghost or other Paranormal phenomina. Smile and have a Great workweek.

  3. Dude! that’s what she looked like at bedtime tonight! arrrgggh!!! nice blur, band name? xxu

  4. Damon Albarn would be jealous. Having seen the other pics from this session, I think K.’s closeup shot of her face is the kewlest…

  8. That one gave my eyes the runaround. They want to focus and although my vision is astonishingly good (20/.01) this picture seemed to through my retnas into a tailspin. Strange huh?

  9. Opal: I’m betting that those cam phone shots came out pretty good.

Leatherboots: I’ve seen this image somewhere before, like maybe MTV or something. Or it could have been one of those haunted house shows on the History Channel.

    nanc: Dude!

Phred: I always have to look up your name drops. Lead singer for Blur, went on to form Gorillaz, once dated the singer from Elastica.

Diane: I agree. Many great ideas have just sort of happened, usually when I’m not thinking about the problem.

    Jon: I believe!

meleah rebeccah: Right on, all even like. All I have to say is I’m glad someone invented the crop tool. :)

Joe: Wow, I thought you had better vision than that. I’m at 20/-45 myself (I can see in other light spectrums). I think next time I’m going to take a picture of my Sony display taking a picture of my Handycam which is taking a picture of something. That would be crazy.

  10. Dude! what Igots no love for bring in blur first?

phred! help me I’m crying over here!

joe! I used to think I was a misfit, you make me feel right at home! BTW – could you please return my coolometer? I am lost with out it! [and you can't see to read it anyway... unless of course I misread your eyesore...]

diane, serendipity – defined in “the book of nance” – [soon available in thrift stores near you] means: when we plan, the Oversoul laughs. So why bother? I can make Him laugh without a plan.
