Seven Things You Don’t Know But I Do

This entry was posted on Nov 12 2007

Being tagged for a meme is one thing. Having the chance to modify it to my desire is quite another.

Dan hit me with the “Seven Things You Don’t Know But I Do” meme because he wanted to see it done with photo representation. Given that I’m short on time and already have three memes in the queue, I thought I’d tackle this one first. It seemed pretty easy, but I had to remove the “about me” part (mostly) to accomplish it with photos. On to the list!

You don’t know:

  • what kind of tea I’m brewing in this picture. I drink coffee in the morning (2 cups) and tea during the day while at work.
  • why there is a fishing reel on my desk.

  • my network login.
  • what is growing in the bottom of my coffeepot. (OK, I don’t know what is either. I was hoping someone could tell me before I decide to use it.)

gumby-kong.jpg
  • who will win today’s deathmatch between Gumby and King Kong.
  • where this sand came from. The beach is the one place where I can truly disconnect from reality. I keep this cigar box version to remind me of it.

  • I got rice, too. With black beans, green onions and a good shot of hot sauce. :P

I’m not going to tag anyone with this, but let me know if you do something similar. How about a little link sexy time instead:

Debo Hobo, for kicking blog-scraper butt

Sullicom, in mourning over having to store his Weber grill for the winter

Opal Tribble, for making an awesome curry dish

Bry, in honor of her baby-in-the-making

99Bloggers, a new community blog that I will be contributing to soon

AntiBarbie, for telling it like it is, even if it’s unpopular

Malik, for keeping me up on the progress of ex-Gator basketball stars in the NBA (I knew Al Horford was going to punish the opponent, given the chance)

Bobby, hoping that he finds his inner strength.

Many thanks to everyone who has been stopping by and thanks to all of my new friends. Until next time. :)

  1. Ohh,
I like your photo meme. I think Gumby might be winning why else would he be waving? Perhaps he is overconfident, eh?

I love your sandbox and the food looks good also.

I’m only drinking liquids this weekend and checking that out is making me crave black beans and something….

I’ll have to stop by and visit the people I don’t know.

I really like that and I can think of a few things that I’m going to do with this.
    Thanks for the link buddy!

  2. It’s probably coffee mold growing in the bottom of the coffee pot. I’d clean it out with hot water. Then, gradually adjust the water from hot to cold so you don’t “shock” the pot. Fill it with cold water. Add a cup of bleach. Soak a couple hours or more. Rinse it all out. Then clean it with dish detergent and rinse. Then fill with water. Add a cup of vinegar. Soak about half an hour. Rinse well. Then use it.

You could skip the vinegar part, but it will get the glass good and clean.

Perhaps overkill in any event, but why take chances?

Question is: Do you know why there is a fishing rod on your desk?

  3. Is that Tazo Green Tea from Starbucks? I drink about three cups a day and I think that is the same type of teabag. I buy it by the box too, it’s cheaper that way.

    Those beens look good too.

  4. Opal: Gumby is about to deliver the final blow. If Kong would drop those bananas, he’d have the advantage. Not today!

I’m interested to see what you have in mind for this post, whatever that means… :)

dcr: That is the most thorough coffee pot cleaning instruction I’ve ever received. Seriously, I’m going to try this.

I think I know why the fishing reel is there. I think. It’s been there for over a year.

Debo Hobo: Nope. I like Tazo tea, though. Good stuff. And those beans were good. :P

  5. Okay, I’m going to give it one more try.

    Celestrial Green Tea?

  6. Nope. BTW, that imploding hotel clip is pretty cool. Typical Vegas.

  7. I’ve had that happen to my coffee pot before too (back before I became a caffeine addict). Just boil some water and add dish soap and let it sit for awhile and you’ll be fine. I promise it won’t kill ya ;)

    BTW, thanks for the linkage!

  8. Word. I’ll get to boiling soon. But if I die, Dan gets all of my money (which might buy you a soda, but that’s about it).

  9. HA!! your addition of pics REALLY make this work. I should just use your pics to complete MY meme. :D That would be quite the challenge but it would go like this…

“You don’t know what I think of not knowing what the tea is that Pete knows he’s brewing.”

Gimboody! There’s all kinds of potential there! :D

  10. Give it a try, I’d like to see your (or someone else’s) photo interpretation of this meme. I might try doing this for some other memes as well. I’ll try stopping by your blog soon. Been insanely busy! :D

  11. Hmmm. Login is your first initial with your last name, password is grungyfunkyc0ffee.

    Was I right? :)

  12. Nope and nope. But I think I might have to use that password the next time I change it. :P

  13. The Gumbie & King Kong death match! Ha!

  14. I have an alligator on my desk as well, but he’s never participated in the death match. Maybe next time.

  15. I must say I am disturbed, enthralled and flabbergasted. The Gumby image will stick with me until the day I die, so thanks for that. I hate green onions–hard, and that coffee pot looks like a tar pit without all the thunder lizards flailing about.

  16. Joe: For you, nothing but the best. I’ll have to start working green onions into my pics. :)
