I’ve yet to locate the name of this flowering tree, but all I know is that it’s beautiful. My favorite colors happen to be yellow and blue, which makes this shot one of my favorites. The colder weather we’re having has been great, since the mosquitoes go into hiding and the sky takes on a bright blue hue. The yellow on the flowers is one of the brightest you’ll find in nature. Combining the two seemed obvious. The beauty is that we’ve had rainless but cloudy days for some time, but Friday brought in a nice high pressure system, pushing out all of the clouds and making room for this awesome blue backdrop.

My latest books use my favourite colours, hot pinks, oranges, reds although some colour combinations are very appealing - yellow and blue, fuschia pink and lime green in particular!

Blue is my favorite color, but I like contrasts too. I guess its a combination of colors and different combinations depending on what mood I’m in. Yellow and blue is a great combination. Blue tends to be a little cold and yellow gives it warmth.

Very nice shot, Peteej.
Blue is my favorite color, the blue of our Florida sky.

Diane, I must agree that a hot flowery pink and neon lime green are where it’s at! I personally dig a deep violet purple with a rich and shimmering gold as the counterpoint; my life long desire is to have a black high collar, hooded cloak or cape that has a silk or velvet lining w/ these colors + an occasional splash of deep crimson in an intricate paisley design… any clothing designers out there? If so, give peteej the skinny, our 6th anniversary is in Jan! - - Dude! I know you see this, consider it archery practice…

My favorite color, or should I say shade, is Black which I enjoy sprucing up with bright accents like silver or hot pink.
The picture is beautiful, by the way.

Blue is my fave color, but I don’t know about yellow. It’s okay in moderation, I suppose. A paisley anniversary, eh? I have to see that one. Very nice pic, though. I’d love to see what you come back with from Newnan’s Lake. Hopefully you can do a photo session out there soon.

I love the color in that photo too!
I like all colors. It depends where and what is colored - all can be great. My favorite color really is red. It’s funny because I don’t wear red clothes or drive a red car, but I like it.:)

Diane: I like just about every color combination you come up with. Color matching is not my strongest skill.
Rolando: Shades of blue - yeah, I’ll still visit your blog. You passed the test.
Susie: I normally lean toward the darker, vibrant blues and less to the lighter, colder blues. The contrast of two colors like this is striking indeed.
Susanne: I love the blue down here, but high mountain blue sky is quite a sight as well.
nanc: I bet Diane could make a book look like the cape you want. Then when you finally get the cape, you’ll be matching.
AntiBarbie: I’m one of the people who consider black a color. I liek it also because it’s easy to work with and goes with every color. I’m usually designing in black/red/white at my job - it’s easy to work with, but man, what a boring color palette.
Phred: You don’t strike me as a yellow guy. Maybe too close to LSU for ya? I’ve got to hit Newnans Lake, it sounds so cool. Maybe this weekend.
Bobby: I had a red car once. Every time I got a ticket it was in a red car. I even witnessed a friend get a ticket in his red car. Something about red cars…
Earl: Thanks for stopping by. I’ve been meaning to go read some haiku magic, but it’s been busy. Did you ever do Purple Haze? I can’t recall, even though I’ve read every post on your site. Maybe it’s time to do it if you haven’t?

I love blue and yellow! Even when I was still a little girl, my drawing was never complete if there’s no yellow in it.
Now, my first choice of cell color in a table is yellow!

My daughters make sure there’s a big, yellow sun in all of their drawings. I love that! The funny thing is that I rarely use yellow in my design work. The yellow links on my blog are the first use of any yellow for me in quite some time.

Although this a great pic it is the school colors of my rival high school of which I still hold a grudge. Also green is way better. Period. Duh.

Yellow and blue make green. I only know that from the Glad storage bag commercials. “Yellow and blue makes green! This is easy!”
Dude, you must be big into football, beyond that of the NFL. That’s the only way I’ve ever seen anyone hold a grudge against another high school for so long. I know this because I live in the South where college football gets you days off from school. Seriously.
