Sage, our beloved Cockapoo, came into our life about four years ago. Sage has an uncanny ability to absorb negative feelings. For example, if something gets you down or you’re upset, grab hold of Sage and she melts it away. Sage is a cuddly dog who doesn’t mind being pinned down and held during a long nap. She’s more than happy to sit on your lap, no matter how much room there is or isn’t. Often, she will come to you on her own if she detects even a hint of frustration in your voice. Basically, Sage is an awesome dog.
If you talk to her or make strange noises at her, she does thing with her head and turns it sideways, kind of like she’s saying, “What? What are you saying?” It’s adorable and Nancy caught her in the act the other day. This is a great shot because the focus is still there, but there’s motion captured as well. And it’s Sage.
One thing that I’ll never forget is that Sage made me a dog person. We now have three dogs and a cat. Though I still think I’m more of a cat person, my soft spot for dogs has become much larger. Especially for dogs that don’t shed.

i love how, even tho she’s mid cock of the head, that one eye is steady on ya. what an adorable pup.
oh, to have a dog that doesn’t shed! our yellow lab I liken to the puny xmas tree on the charlie brown special…she trots around sprinkling dog hair hither and thither like those pine needles falling en masse to the floor! ’s true tho….all seven of ‘em are worth the massive hairballs we sweep up daily

Susanne: She’s always like that! Dog cuteness is a power they hold over us. With it they will rule the world!
Bry: We do have two shedders now, an American Eskimo and a Chihuahua. The little one isn’t so bad, but the old man sheds like crazy. It used to be worse when he was a pup, but at 12 years old, he’s not losing so much fur. They’re great dogs, regardless.

Ah Sage is such a cutie. How do your dogs and cat get along, lol.

Rolando: They get along because the cat says so. You’d be surprised at what one good clawing will do to their attitude. The funny thing is that they chase all of the feral neighborhood cats all the time. They’ve accepted her as family and at times you’ll catch them grooming each other. Rarely, but it does happen.
Opal: Sage got her name because she is our sage. We were drawn to her unlike any other pet. Since you got me going, I’ll give you the short version: Nancy goes into a breeder-run pet store, sees a cute puppy and calls me to come see. I’m so resistant - like always - but go anyway because I’m a softie and love animals. I walk in with the “ain’t no way we’re getting a dog” attitude and Nancy says, “just hold her.” That’s all it took. Nancy named her Sage, which fits her perfectly.

haha, one of our dogs is not too clever. it would probably take a couple of clawing for her to understand, lol
if you can catch a picture of them grooming each other, that would be cool.

Sage is the best dog ever! Hands down, her ability as an empath, playfulness and of course, the cuteness factor make up for all our other pets’ innate and/or annoying issues!

Rolando: The grooming thing has gotten rare, so capturing it will be difficult. I’ll try, though. We had one dog that didn’t get it, even after a couple dozen swipes from the cat.
nanc: I agree completely. “Empath” was the word I was looking for, good call.

Awesome seems like a fitting description. You need to tell him to chill out when you are taking his picture…that would be awesome. Pets change the feel of a family in a good way.

He’s a she and there’s no way she will chill when I’m paying attention to her. All I have to do is look at her and she starts wagging her tail.
