This is Nuts

No, not acorns again (but they are in the queue). This time, nuts from the bolts of a slide at the park. I’m addicted to shadows, I don’t know what it is about them. Same goes for curves, lines, asymmetry – I suppose just about everything photo-related. Red isn’t my color, but the late afternoon sunlight hit this one part of the slide and it lit up.
On a side note, jungl has just released his 2008 calendar, Photos from Northern Norway. His photos are unbelievable and this calendar would make a great gift. Go get one!

I really like your blog – such amazing images, I can’t believe they are all taken with a phone camera! They put mine taken with a DSLR in the shade!
Diane’s last blog post..And now for something completely different?
Hey, Pete, I love the shadows and the light, the arc/curve, the color — fabulous. So glad you’re creating this blog. Makes my day!
Michele Woodward’s last blog post..How To Like What You Do
Michele: It makes my day that I can make your day! Thanks for visiting again. More photos to come!
Diane: I wish I had a DSLR! Thanks for your kind words, I appreciate it more than you know. The only other camera I have is a Sony Cybershot, which shoots pretty good photos, but has a few minor limitations. BTW, if it is any consolation, I could never bind a book anywhere near as good as you!
You know, I am a tab bit jealous that you can take better pictures with a phone cam than I can with my expensive digital camera…
I guess I’m just not a photographer.
AntiBarbie’s last blog post..Are Spirits Real? (Part 2)
Hey Pete. Looking good with another cool shot. Glad you could stop every once in awhile to take these awesome pics.
Rolando’s last blog post..Fashion Disaster
AntiBarbie: You can take good pics, it’s easy. Quick lesson: the rule of thirds. Visualize the frame as three columns and three rows. Just organize the subject matter to fit into the thirds, whether it be in centered or offset. There’s more to it, but that’s essentially the concept. Let me know if you want some more on this and I’ll find you a good link.
Rolando: Thanks for your comments and for stopping by, as usual.
When you’re standing there watching kids run around like insane people, there’s plenty of opportunities to shoot stuff.
This picture sucks! I thought I would say something different to get attention. Clearly a cool pic. You rule. I think this thread is about you being super awesome and I for one want to be right there congratulating you on being one hell of a photo blogger/man about town/and all around cool dude. Kudos to you. Lates Pete!
No, Primus sucks.
Funny side story about Kudos: after we “won” in the first go-round in Iraq (Desert Storm), a bunch of candy corporations took a tax write-off and sent the troops tons (literally) of junk food. We ended up with about 20 pallets of those Kudos candy bars. I ate somewhere around forty-two million of them. We’re talking meal replacement at times. It got to the point where pallets of Kudos would just sit there, pleading for people to come get them. I can’t stand Kudos bars now.
