Mail is a funny thing. Here we are in the age of communication, with e-mail, instant messaging, video conferencing - basically anything you need is available via computer. Yet mail still holds a strong position in communications. We make agreements with mail, we exchange money with mail, we get spammed with mail, we hear from loved ones each holiday season with mail. Yes, I do most of this stuff with a computer now, but I still get mail every day.
I don’t know what I would do without the walk to the mailbox. Sometimes I will go check the mail, knowing that it’s probably been picked up earlier in the day by someone else. It’s like visiting an old friend.

Now if email could deliver my FedEx packages I’d be soooo excited! Until then I love checking the mail and receiving packages.

When I was in Elementary School in the Early 70’s we wrote letters to our Friends who moved away and even as recently as the 90’s I used to correspond with my Second Cousin. I really wish youngsters today could have that form of Communication. My Older Sister always wrote after she left home and I remember getting mail in the Military made you feel Special. Take care.

Rolando: I love getting mail, especially packages! It’s like Christmas. Getting FedEx packages is better though - it feels more important.
Leatherboots: I agree with the military part. Getting packages when you’re on a 6-month deployment really brings up the morale. (It’s funny that I thought 6 months was a long time - now those guys are on 15-month rotations.)

Dude, Mailboxes in the Sun sounds like a title straight from Gary Larsen. Props!

Dude, Gary Larsen rocks. “How Dinosaurs Really Became Extinct” is one of my favorites.

You love mail and you know it! By the way, can I buy a stamp - just one. I’ll pay with pennies and bellybutton lint.
