Pine trees are everywhere in North Central Florida, standing straight and incredibly tall. When we had some hurricanes blow through a few years ago, my friend had four giant pines go down in his yard. Amazingly, none hit his house. Most pines people see now are transplants, not old growth. Go find some untouched land and see what a pine tree is supposed to look like. They’re nothing like those spindly, lumber-farm twigs grown in corn rows.
